Luisa Estella Jung died in 1884 at the age of 4. The Milanese sculptor Luigi Vimercati (1828-1893) created a monument in Carrara marble in which the girl sleeps in a bed with an angel who watches over her, protecting her with a piece of embroidered fabric. Many years ago someone placed a white teddy bear beside her. On the side of the tomb there is the following epigraph: “sleep darling, sleep adored angel, your grandfather is near you”.
In effect, in the space next to it there is the tomb of her grandfather Daniele Jung, who died in 1880. He was a shopkeeper who sold suits who was born in Geislingen near Stuttgart and who arrived in Milan in 1837 following his brother Hirsch, also a merchant. His nephew Guido Jung (1876-1949) was finance minister under Mussolini and Badoglio.
