Mirko Mizko Mosè Conforti, born in Nis in Serbia, died in Milan at the age of twenty-one in 1919. He was a medical student and his dream was to become a doctor and to build a model hospital. The monument by sculptor Attilio Pradoni (see tomb n. 37) represents a pensive angel at the top who protects his tomb with open wings, while at the base two bronze high-reliefs depict a group of patients treated by a young doctor. Under the portrait of Conforti there is the image of a hospital. The writing in Italian and Serbian says: “With the sublime ideal of dedicating his life and science to comfort human misery, the good and kind soul of the apostle died.”
